The Alex tour of SF and other musings

"But you were the restless one... yes you were the restless one, oh no."
-Music for animals

After wednesday thursday and friday seem to fly by. The longest 8 hours of my week are the ones I sit freezing my ass off in the conversational spanish class at DVC. I feel I would have been learning more this whole time if they didn't put two levels into one room but some of the people are cool and doing conversational exercises outside in relative warmth help occasionally.

Thursday one of Billy's clients went off pretty bad and was threatening to burn down the program and take a bat to 'the wardens' car in really graphic detail. He is allowed to come back to program monday and I think Sandie is going to hide her car around the other side of the building.

That guy I can't handle. He doesn't want to be helped. I love the clients that come in motivated and ready to do better. Some of them might have less skills than j-man but they try!

Friday night I went out with Nick, Chris, Shelley, Stephanie from work, another Stephanie, Ashley and this dude named Andrew.

Eating dinner worried me a little on the social dynamics for the rest of the night. But... predictably put enough alcohol into any group of people and they will get along really well. Maybe even get along toooo well in the case of some.

The hip-hop club we went to was alright. Had I not been a designated driver it could have gone from mildly epic to pure insanity. I got home at 4am as it was... slept in till 11am, did some cleaning and got ready to meet up with man friend.

I expressed to him earlier in the week some concerns and I can say he did listen and there was a small very brief moment of cuteness saturday that showed he was trying to improve upon what was concerning me. That was a grammatically atrocious sentence but I'm going to let it stand.

The only problem was on saturday I was completely caught off guard by being kissed on the cheek and didn't respond in the most encouraging way so I sent him an e-mail this afternoon letting him know I appreciated it.

These are things I should be writing about in the moleskin journal but they are words of praise so I hope he doesn't mind if he should end up reading this.

Nathaniel. You're awesome.

He tried to teach me to play backgammon when I first got to his place and I think I did okay for a first timer.

After, we went to SF and I showed him the best hot chocolate, clarion alley, the beer store and Tomasso's before we went back to his house.

This morning we played some backgammon and drank coffee before I came home around noon or one.

I think he went to SF this afternoon with one of his best friends to hang out at Dolores Park. I would have liked to go and meet Mac but I didn't have the right clothes for it... and felt the need to come home and organize things in the house... and study... and basically do all the things I should have done saturday morning if I wasn't sleeping in.

I ended up cleaning my car for three hours. I don't think it has been that clean since my parents bought it! It felt good but now it needs a quick vacuum.

Two more weekends till I move to Mexico... two more weeks of work. Glory. Not.

It's going to be a bittersweet event.

A blue eyed boy meets a brown eyed girl... ohhh oh oh.
