Independence Day

The past few days I've been making a real effort to procrastinate less.

I finally took care of 2 out of 4 parking tickets and it came to $220. I wonder if the parking tickets had turned to warrants while I was out of the country... what would they have done?

After paying off those tickets I ordered Billy baseball tickets for his bi
rthday and bought Nathaniel a poster online of "the creation of Adam". It is supposedly his favorite painting.

This weekend feels really long in a good way because not only is it a 3-day weekend but I also went out on thursday with Nathaniel and some R.E.S. kids. He tried to be polite and stayed up way too late. I got him to his car at about 12:15 (bart shut down) and he was super tired.

Friday Billy and I got up kind of early and went to brunch in Benicia. We painted mugs for Tara and Nathaniel and he came home.

Tara's has a pig face on it because its her favorite animal and I dripped different shades of green down the sides of Nathaniel's mug because green is his favorite color.

Way too cute. Really. If  two best friends painted pottery for the people they were dating in a movie I would say it was fake.

I met up with Chris friday night at Walnut Creek Bart and we drove to a music event in Oakland (see pics below). The band we wanted to see wasn't playing till midnight so we bounced around 11 so that Chris could catch Bart back to the WC. I went over to Nathaniel's only to realize I had lost my phone and we had to go back and get it... The bartender had it for me.

Nathaniel was teasing me because I am always misplacing it :)

We had to get up somewhat early because it is Independence day and he needed to drive all the way down to Santa Cruz this morning. So, he took me out to breakfast and we parted ways.

Again... not sure how much he likes ME but I have a lot of fun with him.

I need to start making a list (and checking it twice) for all the things I need before the big move. I am going to take my backpacker bag, my rolling bag and a regular backpack as a carryon / camera bag. The first two weeks of Querétaro are going to go by really fast. I'm going to need to hustle to find an apartment.

But, good news... Joey says he will probably come down so we can get "lawless". I wouldn't doubt that he will end up hustling Sau into a trip south.

I am really bummed I am going to be without job for another year. Holding up the 'I won't work my first year at State' was rough. But, If I return to the city with the language skills I expect to have finding a job may be a lot easier than before.

Am I really thinking a year in advance?

Yes. Always.

And last night Chris said he would be interested in moving back to the city when Billy and I get a place. So epic. With three people we could probably get a legit house in the Sunset. If we didn't have to live with strangers I would be up for that.

Homework...
